7 night supported program

Our 7 Night Supported Itinerary is designed for groups with a minimum of 6 and maximum of 10 people.  We accompany our cyclists daily by minibus on this program.  Cyclists ideally start cycling in the morning after breakfast from the Magnolias and return to the hotel every afternoon or early evening, for a swim (and a beer!) and delicious dinner!   Final itineraries are subject to seasonal considerations and designed to ensure that rides and activities are matched to different levels of fitness and interest in historical and other pursuits. During the July and August months, itineraries are enriched with historic, fun and gourmet events which take place each day and evening across the many villages of the area. The Abbaye de Sylvanes, for example, offers ancient and classic music displays performed by acclaimed international musicians. Local night markets and special light displays are also common at some of the ancient villages.

Inclusive Details

The 7 Night Supported Program includes:

 

  • Airport transfers from/to Toulouse Blagnac airport or city centre on request
  • 7 Nights of B&B at the beautiful Les Magnolias
  • Bicycle hire of a high quality racing, road, mountain or electric bike (eBike Supplement of 15€/Day or 90€ for full stay)
  • 6 Cycling Days with Following Vehicle covering the UNESCO town of Albi Millau, the Roquefort cheese caves, the historic villages of Brousse Le Chateau and Ambialet and the impressive St Affrique fresh produce market.
  • 6 Lunches or Dinners at Les Magnolias or nearby selected restaurants
  • Complimentary transport to local evening markets and villages.

Suggested 7 Night Supported Itinerary

DAY 1 – Coupiac (16 kms)
Arrive in Toulouse, airport pick-up and transfer to Les Magnolias. Light own lunch at Les Magnolias terrace. Bicycle kit out and swim at the beautiful new Les Magnolias swimming pool. Optional late afternoon Coupiac 18 Green route (slight climb through mountain and forest road). Dinner at Les Magnolias.

Distance: Optional 16 kms; Overnight: Les Magnolias – DB&B

 

DAY 2 – Ambialet (40 kms, Elev. Gain 921 m)
Breakfast at Les Magnolias. Depart on Ambialet 40 Green route (forest, mountain and Tarn river ride). Stunning views of the Tarn river and Trebas along quiet forest roads. Own coffee stop at the historic village of Ambialet . Visit Ambialet’s ancient Franciscan monastery and Roman church. Return ride to Les Magnolias along Tarn river.  Own lunch at L’Oustal/Hotel du Pont. Swimming and chilling at Les Magnolias. Dinner  at Les Magnolias.

DAY 3 – Brousse-Le-Chateau (52 kms, Elev. Gain 1024 m)
Breakfast at Les Magnolias. Depart on Brousse 52 Yellow route: medium level forest, mountain and Tarn River ride. Shady stunning oak and walnut forest roads all the way to Brousse, along the Tarn river. One hard but short climb en route to Brousse, don’t worry, it becomes easy after the first 20 minutes! Short coffee stop at Chateau house at quaint Lincou village/Brousse. Own lunch at Brousse Le Chateau/Lincou. Return ride to Les Magnolias along the Tarn river or mountain. Dinner at Les Magnolias.

Distance: 52 kms; Overnight: Les Magnolias – DB&B

 

DAY 4 – Peyre, Millau, Roquefort Caves (43 kms, Elev. Gain 748 m)

Ride to the historic village of St Affrique (40 kms) and enjoy its impressive fresh produce market (only on Saturdays) and charming church, shops and cafes. Ride 25 kms from St Afrique to the troglodyte village of Peyre, via the stunning St Rome Sur Tarn and with magnificent views of the Tarn valley.  Then a beautiful long ride along the Tarn river, past quaint old farmhouses and lively local rural activity.  Own lunch/picnic at Peyre.  View of the tallest cable-stayed bridge in the world from Peyre.  Bike pick-up and return to Plaisance. Dinner at Les Magnolias.

Distance: 65 kms; Overnight: Les Magnolias – DB&B

 

DAY 5 – Albi (43 kms, Elev. Gain 726 m)

Breakfast at Les Magnolias. Depart on Albi 45 Yellow route (Mountain, forest and river road). Perhaps the most precious of all the cycling routes, mostly along small private farm roads and stone homes along the Tarn river. Coffee stop at Ambialet’s Hotel Du Pont overlooking the Tarn river.  Own lunch in Albi (the memorable Le Robinson restaurant alongside Tarn river is highly recommended).  Alternatively own lunch on the streets of Albi. Visit Albi World Heritage Site attractions: Albi Cathedral, Toulouse Lautrec museum, Palace gardens. Walking and shopping in charming old Albi town.  Return by bike to Plaisance (or bike pick-up). Dinner at Les Magnolias. Optional: 43 km return ride (Return Ride Total: 86,5 kms, Ele. Gain 1546 m).

Distance: 43-86 kms; Overnight: Les Magnolias – DB&B

 

DAY 6 – Combret  (47 kms, Elev. Gain 978 m)

Breakfast at Les Magnolias. Ride to the characterful village of Combret, through beautiful forest scenery.  Mix of hilly, flat and forest ride.  Coffee stop at Posthoumy, view of the Statue Menhirs.  Own lunch at Combret.   Return ride via St Christophe and the ancient “lost” village of Cayla.  Relaxing at Les Magnolias. Own dinner at Les Magnolias or other restaurant.

Distance: 47 kms, Overnight: Les Magnolias – DB&B

 

DAY 7 – Free Day
Chilling out around Plaisance, cycling, walking or canoeing. Own lunch depending on selected activity. Dinner at Les Magnolias.

DAY 8 – Departure

Breakfast at Les Magnolias.  Departure to Toulouse Blagnac airport or city centre (or other to be enquired).
