Les Magnolias Hotel in the village of Plaisance in the Aveyron is a recently renovated 700 year old building, once the family home of the famous French poet Paul Valerie. It is owned by a German entrepreneur, Dietmar Ley, who in 2000 purchased the 700 year old building from the renowned restaurateur family Roussel and then invested substantially into expanding and renovating it into the current 22 room offering.
The hotel’s facilities include two beautiful outdoor terraces shaded by ancient magnolias trees, an outddor covered swimming pool with views of the Aveyron countryside and a Petanque course. Les Magnolias is run by is wife Claudia Ley, who also manages Cycling Magnolias. Plaisance is located in an idyllic cycling environment as it is surrounded by protected indigenous forests, rivers, ancient villages and well kept and quiet roads. It is equally an ideal destination for walking and nature enthusiasts. Meals are served at the hotel’s beautiful medieval-period dining room or at its brasserie and charming outdoor terraces. Lunch and dinner semi-gastronomy menus are offered on week-ends and bistro/brasserie menus are served on week days and evenings.
